Welcome to our Institute

The Institute for Neurovascular Cell Biology is located at the University Hospital campus of the University of Bonn (Venusberg campus). The Institute was founded in 2022 and it is currently formed by two research groups: the group of Prof. Dr. Carmen Ruiz de Almodóvar (director of the institute), and the group of Prof. Dr. Kerstin Wilhelm-Jüngling.

Research at the Institute focuses on understanding the organotypic properties of blood vessels, with a particular focus on the central nervous system. We teach and train medical students as well as students from natural sciences at the level of bachelor, master, MD and PhD programs of the University of Bonn. Training at the postdoctoral level is also an important aspect of our institute.

Willkommen in unserem Institut
