Stereotactic Radiotherapy Symposium 2027

Targeting the Upper Abdomen
Precision Meets Innovation in a Multidisciplinary Context
5 March 2027 · Bonn

Welcome to the Stereotactic Radiotherapy Symposium 2027 in Bonn!

On Friday 5 March 2027, we are delighted to welcome you to the University Hospital Bonn for the Stereotactic Radiotherapy Symposium – “Targeting the Upper Abdomen: Precision Meets Innovation in a Multidisciplinary Context.”

Stereotactic radiotherapy continues to evolve rapidly, driven by advances in imaging, treatment planning, image guidance, systemic therapies, and the expansion of its clinical indications. The symposium brings together experts from radiation oncology, medical physics, and collaborating clinical disciplines to discuss current developments from both a scientific and practical perspective.

A major focus of the 2027 meeting will be SBRT of the upper abdomen, including treatment strategies for oligometastatic disease and tumors of the liver, pancreas, and kidney. Particular attention will be given to the evolving role of radiotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma, including its integration with locoregional procedures and modern systemic treatment.

The program will also address key technical aspects of high-precision radiotherapy, including image guidance, quality assurance, automated treatment planning, and AI-based segmentation. Looking beyond established oncological indications, the session “New Horizons” will explore emerging applications of stereotactic radiotherapy in ventricular tachycardia, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s disease.

We look forward to a day of scientific exchange, multidisciplinary discussion, and opportunities to connect with colleagues in Bonn.

Following the scientific symposium, the annual meeting of the DEGRO Working Group on Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Radiotherapy and the DGMP Working Group on Physics and Technology in Stereotaxy will take place on Saturday 6 March 2027.

Participation to the Symposium is free of charge. In the evening, a Get Together is planned, for which a fee applies.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bonn in March 2027.
