DGPro Science Prize

The interdisciplinary working group led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Richard Wierichs, Dr. Enno Kramer, Dr. Bernd Reiss, Prof. Dr. Andrea Roccuzzo, PD Dr Clemens Raabe, Prof. Dr Burak Yilmaz and Univ.-Prof. Dr Samir Abou-Ayash was awarded the DGPro Science Prize by the German Society for Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterials (DGPro) at the joint congress of the dental associations. The award-winning study is entitled ‘Longevity and risk factors of CAD-CAM-manufactured implant-supported all-ceramic crowns – a prospective multicentre, practice-based cohort study’ and was selected from all submitted papers after anonymous review. The close cooperation between the university hospitals and the practising colleagues from the Ceramics Working Group illustrates how routine treatment data can be used to record the effectiveness of treatment and thus support evidence-based dental care.

Dear visitors,

Welcome to the website of our clinic for periodontology, tooth preservation, and preventive dentistry. We combine modern dental care with university teaching and research—for high-quality, scientifically sound treatment.

Our work is divided into four areas:

1. Treatment

At our clinic, patients can receive treatment just like at a dental practice. We offer the entire spectrum of modern tooth preservation – from preventive care to minimally invasive fillings, aesthetic corrections, microscope-assisted root canal treatments, periodontitis therapy and pediatric dentistry. Further information can be found here.

2. University education

We support dental students in their preclinical and clinical training and impart practical, scientifically sound knowledge. Further information can be found here.

3. Further qualification

Young dentists can obtain further qualifications in our clinic in specific areas such as prevention, endodontology, periodontology, pediatric, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry.

4. Research

Our clinical and practice-oriented research aims to develop new treatment concepts and quickly translate scientific findings into dental care.

The focus is on both basic research and clinical studies, including in the areas of prevention, regenerative endodontic therapies, minimally invasive restorative procedures, and periodontal diseases.

We hope you find the information you are looking for on our website - and we look forward to welcoming you to our clinic.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Wierichs
