Training as a dental hygienist
In cooperation with the North Rhine Dental Association, we offer practical and scientifically based training to become a dental hygienist. The training combines modern dental care, university teaching and research structures, and an intensive practical phase – an ideal framework for high-quality further training with prospects.
Training format: Open modular training of the North Rhine Dental Association.
Start & duration: Entry possible throughout the year
Target group: You have completed training as a dental assistant or have a comparable qualification and, ideally, initial professional experience in the field of prophylaxis/treatment – and are seeking a more responsible role in the field of prophylaxis and hygiene.
Tasks during the training
- Carrying out and assisting with high-quality prophylaxis and therapy measures in the field of dental hygiene
- Planning, organising and documenting hygiene measures, oral health programmes and patient training
- Collaborating on quality and risk management as well as hygiene concepts in the dental practice
- Advising and caring for patients in line with modern dentistry and preventive healthcare
- Integrating research findings and evidence into daily practice – through our scientific environment
Requirements
- Completed training as a dental assistant or equivalent qualification
- Interest in modern dentistry, prevention and hygiene, as well as motivation to take on responsibility
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team in a practice and clinic environment
