Our research group focuses on Outcomes Research and Digital Medicine in Ophthalmogy, combining cutting-edge imaging and functional testing outcome measures with methods of patient-centered ophthalmology. The group investigates chronic eye conditions, particularly age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease, with the goal of improving screening, monitoring, therapeutic options, accessability, and individualized care.
With an interdisciplinary team spanning ophthalmology, information technology, psychology, and health services research and together with our collaborators and partners, we aim to better understand our patients’ needs across clinical, functional, and patient-centered dimensions. Our goal is to translate research findings into evidence-based clinical practice and ultimately improve the everyday lives of patients with chronic eye disease.
