The Institute for Hygiene and Public Health (IHPH) at the University Hospital Bonn brings together expertise in a broad spectrum of fields, from water hygiene to medical geography, environmental medicine to disinfectant testing, hospital hygiene, global health, and One Health.
Committed to Hygiene/infection prevention and control and public health since 1894.
Equipped with a modern, accredited laboratory infrastructure, we offer a full range of chemical, microbiological, and hygiene contract analyzes for areas including water hygiene (drinking, bathing, waste, and process water), technical hygiene (large-scale technical systems, fittings, etc.), disinfectant testing (testing of medical device reprocessing processes, biofilm efficacy of disinfectants, etc.), and a range of other services . In addition to contract testing and services, the IHPH is involved in research, teaching , continuing education and consulting in many ways, far beyond the Bonn location, Furthermore it is home to the travel medicine consultation and vaccination ambulance at the University Hospital Bonn.
