Process optimization/digitalization along the patient journey
Digitale Patientenjourney & Mobility
Patients are at the center of medical care. This is why the patient journey at the ISMC is fully digitalized - from check-in the evening before to arrival planning and transport to the destination institute using an autonomous shuttle pod, through to indoor orientation using a navigation app on the UKB campus.
The pre-evening check-in enables patients to transmit their data before arrival and plan their stay. By implementing the Verimi ID wallet, the electronic ID card can already be used for registration at the UKB.
An intelligent parking management and patient guidance system reduces traffic congestion on the Venusberg campus and reduces the stress of finding a parking space and institute. Autonomous shuttle pods can be used both on demand and in bus format and transport patients and staff across the UKB campus with zero emissions.

UKB Cloud and Data Repository
The basis for AI-based model development and the use of virtual and mixed reality applications is a powerful basic infrastructure and a data pool that can provide patient data securely, efficiently and interoperably.
For this purpose, a Health Information Platform (HIP) is being developed at the ISMC, which provides a wide range of services as the "UKB Data Repository". This includes services at the infrastructure, platform and software levels.
