Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
Welcome
to the Clinic for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of the University Hospital Bonn.
As a specialized center for childhood cancer we treat children and adolescents with solid tumors, leukemia and non-malignant diseases of the blood, bone-marrow and immune system. We focus on the development of immune and cell therapeutic strategies for patients with resistant diseases. The international study center for the treatment of germ cell tumors is also localized at our clinic.
Clinical Focus
- leukemias
- solid tumors
- brain tumors
- bone marrow failure syndromes and immune-deficiencies
- hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
- blood diseases and coagulation disorders
Therapy is based on standardized treatment concepts of the national and international pediatric cancer societies. As a member of the German/Austrian/Swiss Pediatric Society for Oncology and Hematology (GPOH) and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) we participate in national and international multicenter trials to further optimize treatment for our patients.
Close cooperation with the highly specialized medical and surgical disciplines of the university clinic are the base for optimized medical care in all treatment phases from diagnosis to longterm follow-up.
