In the context of the psychiatric university outpatient clinic, we can assist patients with all kinds of mental crises and illnesses. The main focus here is on diagnostics and the possible preparation of a partial stationary or fully stationary treatment.

The psychiatric institute outpatient clinic(PIA) offers patients with mental illnesses a complex diagnosis and treatment. The treatment is performed by a competent team of doctors and psychologists, art and dance therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The psychiatric institute outpatient clinic treats patients with complex treatment needs. Furthermore there is the possibility of long-term outpatient care.

In the institute's outpatient clinic, you will first have a detailed initial consultation with an anamnesis and psychiatric assessment to classify and, if necessary, plan further diagnostic clarification. You will be advised on possible treatment options and an appropriate treatment plan will be drawn up with you. An initial consultation will also take place in our university outpatient clinic prior to any planned inpatient or day clinic treatment.
Checklist of necessary documents:

We ask you to bring the following documents with you to your first appointment at the outpatient clinic:  

• Health insurance card
• Referral to our outpatient clinic (from a specialist or GP) required
• A current specialist or GP treatment report (with psychiatric (suspected) diagnosis, previous episodes of illness, previous physical illnesses)
• A list of current medication and medication taken in the past
• Other previous findings (e.g. if available, relevant doctor's letters from previous inpatient treatment, current laboratory values (blood values, results of cerebrospinal fluid tests if applicable), electrocardiogram (ECG) findings, imaging of the head (cCT, cMRI), electroencephalogram (EEG) findings if applicable).

Please confirm appointments for the first presentation again in the week before the agreed appointment (up to 3 days in advance, by telephone (0228-287-15732) or by e-mail ()), otherwise the appointment will be released again.
