Have you been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder or ADHD?
The BI 1515-0003 study is investigating the tolerability of the drug BI 3031185 in people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and also aims to find out whether the drug can help people with BPD and ADHD. BI 3031185 is a drug developed for the treatment of people with certain mental illnesses such as BPD and ADHD.
for this study, we are looking for
- Patients with borderline personality disorder or ADHD
- Aged between 18 and 45 years
- Willingness to abstain from alcohol for 24 hours and all other drugs, including cannabis, for 72 hours prior to visits 2 and 3
- Willingness to abstain from alcohol and cannabis for 72 hours after taking the study drug and to abstain from all other mind-altering recreational drugs for the duration of the study
- Willingness to abstain from prescribed psychostimulants prescribed for the treatment of BPS/ADHD for 72 hours prior to visits 2 and 3 and 24 hours after taking the study medication
study procedure
To test the tolerability of the drug, a comparison with a dummy drug, also known as a placebo, is carried out. The placebo looks like the study drug but does not contain any active ingredient.
- Arrival the day before, examinations take place, dinner included
- The next day, medication is taken after breakfast and further examinations are carried out
- Afterwards, stay at the study center for one night
- Two appointments with overnight stays 14 days apart (once with placebo, once with study medication)
In total, the study takes about two months, including preliminary and follow-up examinations.
