Internal Audit & Compliance
Welcome to the Internal Audit & Compliance homepage!
Efficient and future-oriented corporate management requires sustainable safeguarding of the company's success. With our services we make a valuable contribution to this.
In our Internal Audit function we support the Board of Management of the hospital and the individual business functions through comprehensive audits as well as audit-related consulting services (Internal Audit). We inform the Management objectively and thus support it in its control, management and steering function. The Internal Audit department of UKB is a member of the German Institute of Internal Auditors (DIIR). The standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Code of Ethics for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing represent basic principles for its work.
In its Compliance function the department and the Compliance Officer are responsible for the implementation and methodical further development of the group wide Compliance Management System at UKB. Thereby we support the Board of Management in ensuring corporate compliance at UKB. At UKB compliance means adhering legal provisions, the clinic's internal policies and ethical principles. In this respect, we are also the contact for anti-corruption (“Ansprechpartner Antikorruption”). In accordance with the German Supply Chain Risk Management Act (“LieferkettensorgfaltspflichtenG”), the Management Board has also tasked the Compliance Department with monitoring and reporting on the LkSG risk management system at UKB (see also the Management Board's statement (DE) on this topic).
The department also assumes the internal reporting function within the UKB group (UKB and subsidiaries) as defined in the German Whistleblower ACT ("Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz") and the EU “Whistleblower Directive” ((EU) 2019/1937). As such, information concerning potential violations of legal and UKB-internal regulations can be reported via phone (on working days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and by post - also anonymously. This also includes references to human rights or environmental risks and violations of rights along our supply chain in the sense of the German Supply Chain Act. Information on potential risks and violations in the sense of the German Supply Chain Act might also be reported.
If requested, your data and information are subject to confidentiality to the extent in line with the relevant legal stipulations. All reports will be assessed thoroughly, cases of suspicion will be investigated and sanctions consistently applied if applicable. The corresponding data protection information applies.
