Brain Tumor Translational Research Group
We are an interdisciplinary team of basic and clinical scientists with a joint interest in translational neurooncology. Our team consists of neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, biologists and applied mathematicians uniting different perspectives on brain tumors. Besides to an interest in meningioma and brain metastasis, our main focus lies with glioblastoma which is among the most lethal tumors in human.

Bridging basic science into clinical reality
We are committed to the vision of bringing innovative approaches from experimental cancer research into clinical application to ultimately improve the holistic treatment of patients with brain tumors. Our main interest is the investigation of cellular tumor networks which builds on an extensive preclinical research environment and a long-standing expertise in the conception of clinical trials.

Connecting tumor and epilepsy surgery
Integrated into one of the major neuro-oncology and epilepsy centers in Germany, we work on cross-linking strategies between epilepsy surgery and tumor surgery in order to expand the surgical treatment modalities of brain tumors. Assembling a broad range of preclinical and clinical research projects, our current focus is on the exploration of supramarginal resection strategies for selected tumor localizations.
