Long-Term consequences of COVID-19

Study: COVIMMUNE-Clin
Study title: Long-term consequences of COVID-19 for pulmonary and neurocognitive disorders (COVIMMUNE-Clin)
DRKS-ID: DRKS00023806
Background:
Different reports suggest that an infection with SARS-CoV-2 can lead not only to damage to the lungs, but in rare cases also to permanent damage to the nervous system. Attention problems, memory or word finding disorders as well as lung damage and symptoms of fatigue are reported, among other things. In order to research this further, we are investigating the possible effects and long-term consequences of an infection with SARS-CoV-2 on the nervous system, cognitive performance and the lungs as part of the “COVIMMUNE-Clin” study funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Study recruitment is closed.
Course of the study:
Cognitive performance (e.g. memory and attention), lung function, brain structure using an MRI and blood samples taken on the days of the examination are examined.
