Paediatric Cardiac Surgery at the German Paediatric Heart Centre in Bonn
The German Paediatric Heart Centre in Bonn offers a range of highly specialised medical services to treat congenital heart defects in patients from infants to young adults. 
Congenital heart defects are rare, and many different types and combinations are known.
Successful treatment requires a concerted effort and interdisciplinary dialogue between highly qualifed specialists in prenatal medicine and human genetics, obstetrics, paediatric cardiology, paediatric anaesthesia, paediatric intensive care medicine and paediatric cardiac surgery, who all work under one roof.
We also work with key partners from the University of Bonn, which include the leading German centre for prenatal cardiac diagnostics as well as a specialised centre for adults with congenital heart defects. For many years, this highly respected and internationally distinguished approach has proven its worth at the German Paediatric Heart Centre in Sankt Augustin and will now be expanded further as part of the Bonn University Medical Centre. The newly opened Parent and Child Centre (ELKI) will also provide our teams with state-of-the-art medical facilities. As a result, our successful paediatric cardiac surgery team will work closely with other highly specialised teams in the university setting, with the aim of further improving the quality and scope of services offered by the diagnostic exams and operations provided by ELKI.
