A major part of the cooperation of the projects #4, 5, 7 and 8 was the design and construction of cell straining devices, based on design principles elucidated during the definition of the first funding period of the CRU 208.
The device was optimized, constructed and integrated in the first year of the first funding period of CRU 208 and was used intensively in common research of the participating projects. Furthermore, the design principle of the device was successfully applied for national and international patents (Bourauel et al., 2010a,b).
